Unfortunately, less than 11 percent of substance abusers receive proper treatment for their addiction. As a Human Services Addiction Counseling graduate, you can help change that by counseling those affected by drug and alcohol addiction.

Program Overview
Addiction counselors are professional counselors that provide individual counseling, group counseling, and educational services to individuals and families experiencing the effects of alcohol and drug abuse addictions.
How to Apply
This program is open enrollment, meaning you do not have to fill out the selective admissions application.
Criminal Background Notice
For students in this program who may have a criminal background, please be advised that the background could keep you from being licensed by the State of Texas. If you have a question about your background and licensure, please speak with your faculty member or the department chair. You also have the right to request a criminal history evaluation letter from the applicable licensing agency.
