At TJC, we work hard to make every student’s admissions process as smooth as possible. Applying and enrolling toward an online degree is no different than enrolling for in-person classes.
Before seeing an advisor for online degrees, you should have accomplished the following:
- You have been admitted and have an Apache ID number.
- You have submitted all required transcripts.
- You have completed placement testing and have determined your Texas Success Initiative (TSI) status.
Follow the steps below to become an online student at TJC. If you have questions, see our Distance Learning contact information at the bottom of this page. We will be glad to help you get started.
Apply to TJC
Submit application at tjc.edu/apply and complete all admissions requirements.
Submit Your Test Scores
Submit your official TSI scores (unless you are exempt). If you have not taken the TSI Placement Exam, you may take it at the TJC Testing Center. Check with the Testing Center for available test times and fees.

Submit Your Transcripts
Submit either your official high school transcript or your GED scores. High school transcripts must have the date of graduation posted on the transcript. All high school and college/university transcripts must be official (no faxed copies).

Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships
TJC can assist you in applying for financial aid, scholarships and veterans’ benefits. Vocational/technical students may also be eligible for a Perkins Grant. Start this process early in the calendar year and be mindful of deadlines.
Register for Classes
To register your classes, first choose your courses and log into Apache Access to enroll for the semester.
Secure Payment for Tuition and Fees
- Pay online through your Apache Access account: Under “Quick Links”, choose the link Statement and Payment History. At the bottom of the page, select Make a Payment. You may either choose the installment plan option or pay in full with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover.
- Pay in person at the Cashier’s office, located on the first floor of the White Administrative Services Center (WASC), with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover; check; cash or money order.
- Pay by phone with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover to the Cashier’s office at 903-510-2672.
- Pay by mail with a personal check made out to TJC for the correct amount of tuition and fees. Include the student’s ID number and mail to:
