Reception held for TJC retirees

Tyler Junior College recently honored 11 retiring employees, who collectively totaled 294 years of service at TJC.

“We talk a lot about our beautiful campus and buildings, but what really makes this place special is the people who work here,” TJC Chancellor and CEO Dr. Mike Metke said. “They are what make TJC the exceptional place that it is. This is a great place to further your education, and it’s also a great place to work.

“We congratulate these fine individuals for a job very well done, and we sincerely thank them for their years of service to our college.”

• Catherine Baker, 10 years, medical laboratory technology professor and department chair
• Jan Boyd, 17 years, TSI mathematics professor
• Linda Caldwell, 14 years, associate degree nursing professor
• Shannon Cross, 13 years, history professor
• Candy Dyson, 16 years, outreach services librarian
• Dr. Peter Jones, 43 years, history professor
• Randy Melton, 21 years, director of campus police
• Mike Moseley, 28 years, campus safety corporal
• Dr. Cheryl Rogers, 43 years, executive director of institutional effectiveness, planning and research
• Frank Rucker, 48 years, economics professor
• Dr. George Wilson, 41 years, director of educational technology and media systems
