Intramural Sports related questions

In order to qualify for playoff games teams must reach 2 benchmarks. First, teams must finish the regular season with a .500 winning record or better. Second, teams must finish with a minimum 3.0 sportsmanship score. This score must be maintained through playoff play or the team will be removed from the playoff bracket.

Teams will not be allowed to add anyone after the first week of league play. All rosters will be locked. If there is a problem and you need to remove or add someone, you will need to discuss this with the Rec Sports Office, on the 2nd floor of the OHPE Center.

Yes! If a spot is available, we will allow teams to reschedule their assigned game, but it is not guaranteed! Team captains are encouraged to act early if they cannot make a game. Reschedule spots are first come, first served. All reschedules must be completed by 1pm the day of the game. NOTE: The time of your game is official in IMLEAGUES. Unless your schedule is changed online, the reschedule is not complete. Do not trust the word of the opposing team.

Once a team advances to playoffs, it is not certain that you will play on the same day and time as your regular season games are scheduled. All teams are entered into one bracket for the playoffs, so a team that plays on Mondays at 5:45 may be playing a team that plays on Thursdays at 6:45. Therefore, it’s impossible to have the games at the same time for every team.

Yes, Sportsmanship ratings can have multiple affects to your team. Teams must maintain a 2.5 out of a 4.0 scale for sportsmanship rating throughout the regular season and playoffs.  A team with poor sportsmanship rating will not be accepted for post season play no matter their winning record. If a team continuously displays poor sportsmanship ratings the teams captain may be asked to meet with the Director to discuss their behavior and determine future status in Intramural sports.

Team captains serve as a liaison between the team and the Rec Sports Office. League and team information is primarily sent to the team captain. The team captain may protest a rules interpretation during a game or eligibility issues.  Team captains are responsible for assisting the Intramural Sports staff with making sure the team and its spectators/affiliates adhere to all sports rules and Intramural Sports policies.  Lastly, the team captain is also the individual that is responsible for all fees that the team incurs over the season.

Teams are expected to show up to their assigned game times. If a team cannot make a game time, the intramural office can help you possibly reschedule your game. If a game cannot be rescheduled, teams have the choice of defaulting or forfeiting the game. If you call the intramural office prior to 3 p.m. the day of your game, we will allow you to DEFAULT your game, meaning you will receive the loss, but you will not be charged a fee. If you do not call the office and choose to not show up to your game, your team will be charged with a forfeit. This means you will receive a loss and could possibly be charged a fine for forfeiting the game.

Games or events may be cancelled due to bad weather in the area. If that is the case, then participants can find out if their game has been cancelled three (3) ways:
