Within one city block, you can see a show in our state-of-the-art dome theater, watch our students perform Shakespeare, cheer on our basketball team and visit the Tyler Museum of Art.
TJC truly is the cultural, scientific, and entertainment epicenter of East Texas, and we’ve been showcasing our talented students for more than 97 years. Our student-athletes, student performers and student artists compete nationally with the best other community colleges and universities offer. We also have a collection of some of the best facilities in East Texas, from our recently renovated Wagstaff Gymnasium; the Center for Earth and Space Science Education, a complete rebuild of the original Hudnall Planetarium; and the newly-renovated Ornelas Center for Band, Apache Belles & Dance.

The Earth & Space Science Center
TJC’s 40-foot dome theater is the crown jewel of the science community in Tyler, with daily shows spanning everything from space travel to Earth sciences.
The state-of-the-art Planetarium features an immersive, full-dome video experience. The new theater is equipped with Digitarium Aethos, the latest in digital projection technology.
The facility also features interactive displays and exhibits, classroom and outdoor play spaces.

Fine and Performing Arts
With music, theatre, dance, and musical theatre offerings, TJC provides outstanding productions throughout the year for audiences of all ages and interests.

Family Learning Center
The Family Learning Center of Tyler was established in 2007, a collaborative project of the Literacy Council of Tyler, Tyler ISD and TJC. It also serves as the TJC Child Development/Early Childhood Education Laboratory School for college students preparing for careers in early childhood professions. Enrollment is open to any child 6 weeks to 5 years of age, provided the child care program and the facility can meet the needs of the child.

Apache Athletics
With 70 national championships, TJC athletic teams are some of the most highly decorated in the nation.

Tyler Museum of Art
The Tyler Museum of Art is a privately owned and independently funded art museum with traveling exhibits a permanent collection of incredible artwork.
The museum exists as an educational and cultural center to enrich the lives of East Texas citizens and visitors through the collection, preservation, study, exhibition, interpretation, and celebration of the visual arts.
