At TJC, we work hard to make every student’s Admissions process as smooth as possible. Here are the steps to follow to ensure you meet the Admissions requirements.
Apply to TJC
Submit application at tjc.edu/apply and complete all admissions requirements.
Submit Your Transcripts
Submit either your official high school transcript or your GED scores. High school transcripts must have the date of graduation posted on the transcript. All high school and college/university transcripts must be official (no faxed copies).

Apply to Live on Campus
Join the over 1,200 students living on campus. Rooms go quickly so apply and complete a separate Housing application early. Members of a TJC-affiliated team or group (Athletics, Band, Belles, Honors) must complete an application but do have rooms blocked by sponsors and coaches. Visit the Residential Life and Housing page for complete information and to apply.
Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships
TJC can assist you in applying for financial aid, scholarships and veterans’ benefits. Vocational/technical students may also be eligible for a Perkins Grant. Start this process early in the calendar year and be mindful of deadlines.
Submit Your Test Scores
Submit your official TSI scores (unless you are exempt). If you have not taken the TSI Placement Exam, you may take it at the TJC Testing Center. Check with the Testing Center for available test times and fees.

Turn in Vaccination Form
All students under the age of 22 taking classes at any TJC location (TJC Central Campus, TJC West, TJC North, Jacksonville or Rusk) must submit Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination forms.
Apply for Selective Admission (only certain programs)
Admission to TJC does not guarantee admission to a specific School of Nursing and Health Professions program. The number of students admitted to each of these programs is limited.
Attend New Student Orientation
New students who participate in New Student Orientation gain a first-hand glimpse of college life before a semester begins by learning about the TJC campus, and exploring how to become involved on campus with activities and clubs.
Get Advised
Once you’ve applied and been accepted to TJC, you can speak with an advisor to determine which courses to take. Transfer students are not required to meet with an advisor before class registration.
Register for Classes
To register your classes, first choose your courses and log into Apache Access to enroll for the semester.
Secure Payment for Tuition and Fees
- Pay online through your Apache Access account: Under “Quick Links”, choose the link Statement and Payment History. At the bottom of the page, select Make a Payment. You may either choose the installment plan option or pay in full with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover.
- Pay in person at the Cashier’s office, located on the first floor of the White Administrative Services Center (WASC), with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover; check; cash or money order.
- Pay by phone with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover to the Cashier’s office at 903-510-2672.
- Pay by mail with a personal check made out to TJC for the correct amount of tuition and fees. Include the student’s ID number and mail to:

Checks must be mailed 5 days before the payment due date so they can be processed before the deadline.
Prepare for Your Semester
- Purchase books at the Campus Store
- Get your ID and Parking Pass at Campus Police
- Access your student email in Apache Access
