TJC West is located on West Loop 323 in Tyler, and includes programs for Industrial trades such as welding and automotive, the Small Business Development Center, and The School of Skilled Trades and Continuing Studies.


TJC West is the home of three distinct buildings: the RTDC, the Skills Training Center and the Energy Center.

The School of Skilled Trades and Continuing Studies offices are housed at the Regional Training and Development Complex (RTDC) located at TJC West. The 84,000-square-foot RTDC facility offers on-site registration and fee collection, convenient parking and a 300-seat conference room.

The 75,000-square-foot Skills Training Center is home to the College’s automotive technology and welding technology departments. The center and its departments are utilized by college students and dual-credit high school students to learn skills needed in our community. 

Opened in January 2015, the Energy Center provides training in the latest industry standards for students seeking highly skilled jobs in energy systems technology, HVAC, electrical and electronic controls technology, and industrial maintenance technology including advanced manufacturing technology.
